I am a father, a spouse, a mentor, a business owner, and in recovery. I grew up in Seattle, graduated from UC Berkeley in 1967 and University of Southern California Law School in 1970. I’ve been a member of the California Bar since 1970. I’ve lived in Santa Barbara since 1977.
I was a co-founder of The New York Bagel Factory of Santa Barbara in 1979 and Artisan Foods/Paradisio Sorbet in 1995. I’ve been practicing immigration law since 1999 and am bi-lingual.
I’m the father of two sons, Joss and Bowie, am a grandparent and god-parent. I’m a mediator, a mentor in The Fighting Back Mentor Program. I have served on the board of directors of the Wilderness Youth Project, Santa Barbara Middle School and The Rhythmic Arts Project.
I have been trained as a mindfulness meditation facilitator and serve on the board of the Mindful Heart Program, am a practitioner of Non-Violent Communication, a Universal Life Church Minister and a Oneness Blessing Giver.
I love walking and hiking, singing and playing the ukulele, swimming in the ocean, movies, reading, spending time with family and friends, talking like Donald Duck, writing rhyming poetry, mentoring, meditating, and being of service. I love my life.
